Frequently asked questions

Questions about PRIME.

Answers about the product, pricing, ePrescribing, pharmacy choice, insurance workflows and implementation.

Who is PRIME designed for?

PRIME is designed for independent and specialty ambulatory medical practices and their authorized clinical, front-office, administrative and billing users.

Does PRIME support insured and self-pay patients?

Yes. PRIME is intended to support practices that see insured patients, self-pay patients, or both. Insurance capture, eligibility, claims and payments depend on the practice’s subscribed modules and configured partners.

How is ePrescribing used in PRIME?

An authorized prescriber opens ePrescribing from the patient workflow, reviews the medication and patient context, independently selects the prescription details and authorizes transmission to a pharmacy selected for that prescription.

Who chooses the medication?

The licensed prescriber makes the prescribing decision. PRIME does not select a drug on behalf of the prescriber.

Who chooses the pharmacy?

The patient may identify a preferred pharmacy and may request a different supported pharmacy for a prescription. PRIME does not require use of a particular pharmacy.

Does the base subscription include every third-party service?

No. Pharmacy/EPCS, lab or imaging connectivity, clearinghouse and eligibility services, payment processing, SMS, transaction usage and some integrations may be additional.

Can we use our own billing team?

Yes. Practices may use PRIME billing software with their own staff, contract for PRIME Managed RCM, or work with a compatible third-party RCM organization.

How do we request support or a demo?

Use the Contact & Support page. Do not submit protected health information through the public website form.
